Basic informations

Welcome to the website of the project titled Monitoring of long-term changes in biological diversity of running waters during climate change: design, realisation, and implementation in the ARROW public information system (EHP-CZ02-OV-1-018-2014). The project was launched on 1 January 2015; planned date of completion of the project is 31 December 2016.

Principal investigator:
T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute, public research institution

Co-investigators:
Department of Botany and Zoology of Masaryk University
Hydrosoft Veleslavín s.r.o.

The aim of this project is to create, in cooperation with Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, a publicly accessible web portal that would allow any persons interested to clearly display and assess information about the change in distribution or density of selected aquatic organisms in connection with environmental variables, including those related to climate.
The data assessment program and web presentation aimed at visualisation of the results will be designed so as to enable smooth addition of further data obtained in the course of future studies. The web portal, allowing a wide range of input and output data settings, will thus thanks to its variability and robustness provide a unique tool serving both the general and expert public interested in finding out the answer to the question: "Is the distribution and density of aquatic organisms changing in any way and is it related to climate?"
